Property dealings (freehold or leasehold) by way of sale, purchase, re-mortgage, lease extension, equity release or transfer of equity

Introduction

No two transactions are the same. Much depends on the chain involved and the type of property. The following provides a detailed outline of the firm’s fee charging structure but each applicant/enquirer will receive a detailed written fees/disbursement quote tailored to the specific requirements of their proposed transaction

Your Home

The purchase of your home is probably one of the largest investments you will make in your lifetime. It is essential that dealings with your home are carried out in a professional and efficient manner.

At Henchleys we do not operate as a bulk on-line or telephone-based conveyancer. We offer expert personalised attention to your matter provided by our experienced property lawyers.

Henchleys' client-focused efficiency and level of expertise has enabled the firm to achieve accreditation under the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme (registration number – CQS01208).

The costs of property transactions can be broken down between:

  • Solicitors’ legal fees
  • VAT (currently at 20%)
  • Disbursements (necessary expenses paid to third parties – e.g. Stamp Duty Land Tax paid to HMRC on certain land dealings – see details below).

The details set out below are illustrative not a quote/estimate for a specific matter. Upon receiving an enquiry to do so, we will prepare a bespoke, tailored estimate for your particular transaction(s). This will take into account, inter alia, relevant matters such as whether you are a first time buyer, a corporate entity, whether you will own more than one property at completion for SDLT purposes, the type of property etc.
