OUR LEGAL FEES AND DISBURSEMENTS

Debt Recovery Stage 3 – Judgment

If the debtor/defendant has not acknowledged service of court proceedings within 14 days of service by the court or if the defendant acknowledges service then fails to enter any defence within a further 14 days, the claimant will be entitled to apply to the court for summary/default judgment for the amount claimed, any interest claimed, refund of court fee and fixed costs. Here, it should be noted that the “fixed costs” regime will never equate to “actual” costs but we have to work with the system of fixed recoverable costs imposed by the courts/HM Government.
